One company, both trades
One company for the furnace and the water heater
By SwiftPro Heating, Cooling & Plumbing · Read October 5, 2026
Plenty of companies say they do heating, cooling and plumbing. The Virginia license record says 40 in Northern Virginia actually hold both trades on one license. Here they are, with their Google rating and who owns each one today.
Why one company for both helps
A lot of the work in a Northern Virginia house sits right where the two trades meet. A gas water heater and a gas furnace often share a flue. A boiler is heating equipment full of plumbing. A high-efficiency furnace or AC makes condensate that has to drain somewhere, and a humidifier needs a water line. When one license covers both, one visit can finish the job instead of a second appointment with a second company.
Virginia licenses each trade separately. A company with only an HVAC license isn't licensed for the plumbing side, however its website reads. The license is the part you can check.
