SwiftPro truly went above and beyond. Our AC stopped working a couple of days before the heat wave and required parts being ordered. The company called around local stores across the DMV and located the part needed; ensuring we received the new part installed before the external temperatures skyrocketed. The technicians were very patient, knowledgeable, and really advocated on our behalf to our management company to expedite the repair process.
Excellent experience from beginning to end. Prompt response (our AC went out on a 93 degree day), good communication and ease of scheduling an appointment. I came home from travel at 5pm on a 90F day and my home was 103F! I spent over an hour trying to call 10 different HVAC companies and either they didn't answer, referred me to a voice mail, or responded, but told me that they could come tomorrow (even though they claim 24-hour service and urgent service). Jamie arrived around 8pm, and he did a great job in carefully diagnosing the problem, and finding it to be to be a malfunctioning thermostat rather than an expensive AC repair. He replaced it, also gave advice on maintenance of the HVAC unit. He was very professional and knowledgable and the cost was very reasonable. My house is now back to normal temperatures and I am a very happy customer.

RENTER - the home we are leasing had the AC go out at the top of summer! SwiftPro's Mike brought portable AC units while we waited for the install date (3 days later) to help keep us comfortable! This was fantastic, as was his knowledge about different unit brands!
Moises and his apprentice installed the new unit, working diligently all day - without taking any noticeable breaks. They were professional and very personable.
Most AC calls start the same few ways: warm air out of the registers, an outdoor unit that hums but never starts, water around the indoor unit, or a refrigerant line covered in ice. The usual causes are cheaper than people fear. A failed run capacitor or a burnt contactor stops the outdoor unit. A clogged condensate drain sends water toward the ceiling. A packed filter or a blower wheel caked in dust gives you a system that runs all day and never cools. Low refrigerant happens too, and low means leaking, so we look for the leak instead of topping it up every summer.
We look at the whole system, not just the part making noise: refrigerant pressures, the temperature drop across the indoor coil, amp draw and the electrical side. You get the repair price in writing before anyone starts, and you can say no. Capacitors, contactors, condensate parts, thermostats and most motors ride on the van. We work on Trane, Carrier, Rheem, Lennox, Goodman, York, American Standard, Bryant, Mitsubishi Electric and the rest.
Usually the outdoor unit isn't actually running. Stand next to it with the thermostat calling for cool. A hum with no fan turning points at the run capacitor, total silence at the contactor. If the outdoor unit runs normally and the air stays warm, the system is low on refrigerant, and that means it's leaking somewhere.
The condensate drain is blocked. The indoor coil pulls gallons of water out of Northern Virginia summer air, and all of it leaves through one small line. When that line clogs, the water finds the ceiling below. Shut the system off and call. Clearing it, adding a trap and fitting an overflow switch is a small repair.
Past about twelve years, with a repair that costs more than a third of a new system, replacing usually wins. A leak on an old R-22 system usually ends the conversation, because R-22 hasn't been produced since 2020. Short of that, repair is often right. We give you both numbers on the same visit and you pick.
Turn the system off, switch the fan to ON and let it thaw before anyone looks at it. Ice means low airflow or low refrigerant, and you can't tell which while it's frozen. Change the filter while it thaws. If it ices up again soon after, call, because running it iced is how a compressor dies.
Twelve to fifteen years. Heat pumps run every month of the year, so they tend to land at the lower end. A system still on R-22 refrigerant is older than that, whatever the label says.
Upgraded to their full system package which included cleaning the AC evaporator coil and the dryer vent. The dryer runs so much cooler now and finishes cycles in half the time! 💨

Swift Pro wasn’t the cheapest and far from the most expensive. After working with Tommy and Tyler at Swift Pro, we settled on a very reasonable price and I replaced my furnace, A/C and water heater. Swift Pro has excellent customer service, an exceptional warranty and the install team was amazing. Hopefully I don’t have to do this project again anytime soon. But if I do, I would use Swift Pro again! As a bonus, the turn around time was very fast.

The plumber who came out, Zabi, was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. Eddy Hernandez did a great job when our AC unit stopped cooling the house. He also educated us on some basic HVAC and humidifier things that we can do ourselves to make things run smoother) and in one case with less effort on our part.
