Plumbing repair in Springfield: “old leaky pressure regulator that needed to be replaced”

Google review, September 15, 2026 · last updated October 19, 2026

Plumbing repairSpringfield5 out of 5 stars

I had an old leaky pressure regulator that needed to be replaced. I was also given a price range up front when scheduling the service. The price was fair as I did get a few quotes so I knew what the going rate was.

Justin was friendly and profesional, and he did a phenomenal job with it. He also explained everything very clearly.

I would totally call them up again if I need plumbing service.

SwiftPro's reply on GoogleAndrew, a pressure regulator is easy to lowball over the phone, so we would rather give you the range up front and hold to it than surprise you at the end. Justin will be glad the explanation landed. High house pressure quietly shortens the life of every fixture and appliance you own, so that was a good one to catch before it did real damage.

About this job

SwiftPro's note, in our words, on the problem in this review and the job we did.

If every faucet and shower in the house went weak together, look at the regulator where your main comes in before you blame the pipes.

Plumbers call it a pressure reducing valve, or PRV, and its job is to step the street supply down to something your fixtures can live with.

When one fails it can also go the other way and let too much through, which wears out faucets, toilet fill valves and supply lines early.

This one was old and had started leaking, and a leaking PRV gets replaced, not adjusted.

On a job like this it's fair to ask for a price range when you book and to compare a couple of quotes, which is what this customer did.

Worth checking afterward: a working regulator closes off your plumbing, so heated water has nowhere to expand and the relief valve on your water heater can start to drip.

An expansion tank gives it that room, and if your heater doesn't have one, it needs one.

And if the drop came on suddenly rather than over months, have the service line in the yard looked at too.

Emergency service 24/7.

Dryer vent cleaning5 out of 5 stars

I was trying to dry my clothes, but my dryer just would not work. I believed that the heat trip was being activated, so I tried cleaning the vent myself. Well, I couldn’t get deep enough, so I had to call some professionals. They came as soon as they could, and cleaned out my dryer vent. …

Turned out that there was TONS of like solid dust chunks in there that was just completely blocking airflow. After that, my dryer worked fine.

Some time later they also installed a water filter under my sink so that I don’t have to drink the chlorine filled pool water the city gives us anymore. I highly recommend the swiftest of the pros!
