Our 40 year old furnace went out during a cold snap this spring and Moises was able to replace our whole system with a Trane dual fuel furnace system that works with our solar and gas as well as new AC unit. We were delighted by the significantly reduced power consumption this summer on AC down from $500 to $75 a month! The whole system cost us about half of what my co-worker paid for theirs. Moises and his crew were timely, professional and kind. Later this summer, my Ecobee for controlling my mom's HAVC system went out and Moises was there within two hours to fix it. I wholeheartedly recommend Tyler, Moises and crew. I have known Tyler and Moises for years and their integrity, honesty and work ethic are exceptional. This furnace was 40 years old when it quit in a spring cold snap.
That's twice a normal life; a gas furnace with a checkup every fall runs fifteen to twenty years.
Once it's past fifteen, a repair bill above a third of the price of new is your sign to replace.
Here the whole setup was swapped for a Trane dual fuel system that works with the home's solar and gas, plus a new AC.
Dual fuel pairs a heat pump with a gas furnace: the heat pump handles most of the winter, and gas takes over on the bitter nights.
Where it switches depends on your power company: on Dominion Energy, gas wins below about 38 degrees, and on NOVEC below about 16.
Their AC power use dropped sharply that first summer.
A later call was an Ecobee that went out on a family member's system.
Thermostats are among the parts that ride on the van.
