The water filtration reviews that say the most

How we picked these: the most specific reviews first, the ones that name the problem, how it turned out and how they were treated. Then the newest, spread across towns.

I was trying to dry my clothes, but my dryer just would not work. I believed that the heat trip was being activated, so I tried cleaning the vent myself. Well, I couldn’t get deep enough, so I had to call some professionals. They came as soon as they could, and cleaned out my dryer vent. Turned out that there was TONS of like solid dust chunks in there that was just completely blocking airflow. After that, my dryer worked fine. …

Some time later they also installed a water filter under my sink so that I don’t have to drink the chlorine filled pool water the city gives us anymore. I highly recommend the swiftest of the pros!

The plumber, Tyson, was exceptional. He was friendly, courteous, competent and very thorough. He and Robert resolved our plumbing issues while providing an outstanding customer oriented service experience. Tyson did an excellent job installing our new hot water heater, thermostatic mixing valve and OneFlow TAC filter. Tyson is a true asset to your company and represents the Swift Pro brand well.

Tyler(?) the owner is very very consientious about what his staff does. He called me immediately after my first post (which I thought I had deleted) and I agreed to try again with a different representative. HTyson was out this morning around 8:00 A.M. and was much more personable than the previous person. His customer service skills were top notch. He took time to explain various items about the soft water/filtration system. He even chased down my dog who is a real escape artist and did one of his escapes as I opened the door. …

That was a great plus as he really didn't need to do that. I'm currently looking at prices to determine which system I will purchase. I would recommend them to anyone looking for plumbing,HVAC,softner etc needs.

We recently hired SwiftPro in Fairfax County, VA to install a reverse osmosis water filtration system, install a new toilet, and replace our outside hose bibs. They were super professional, courtesy, on time, and pleasant to work with. Plus they got the job done at a fair price. Thank you, Tyler, Moises, Oscar, and the entire SwiftPro team!!!

Zabi came to test our water and get us an estimate on a water softener filtration system. He was amazing. Very professional and very honest.

Fast service and very knowledgable. The technician helped me with both a garbage disposal and water softer issue. He was friendly and easy to talk to about future needs.

Tyson from Swiftpro came out regarding our interest in an under sink water filtration installation. We were very impressed with his knowledge and information and feel confident in Swiftpro.

What this job usually involves

People call about their water for a few reasons: scale on the faucets and spots on the glasses, a chlorine taste or pool smell at the tap, a water heater crusted with sediment, or a utility report with numbers they want explained. Hardness here runs from under 3 to about 11 grains per gallon depending on your utility, and anything from 7 up counts as hard.

Before recommending anything, one of our plumbers tests the water at your tap: hardness in grains per gallon, chlorine, sediment, rust and iron, water pressure, and the age and condition of your water heater. Then you get the options side by side, including doing nothing. We install three systems. Under-Sink Reverse Osmosis (RO) goes under the kitchen or bathroom sink with its own small faucet, for the water you drink and cook with. A Whole-Home Water Softener and Carbon Filter treats every tap, every shower head and bathtub. A Complete Water System is both together. The same dedicated plumbing team tests the water and installs the system.

Questions people ask

Do I need a water softener or a water filter?

It depends on what you're fixing. Scale on faucets, spots on glasses and sediment in the water heater point to hardness, which a water softener fixes. A chlorine taste or smell points to carbon filtration. The dissolved contaminants on a utility report, like chromium-6 and nitrate, take Reverse Osmosis (RO). Plenty of homes here want two of the three.

Where does a Reverse Osmosis (RO) system go?

Under the kitchen sink or a bathroom sink, with its own small faucet beside the main one. It treats the water you drink and cook with, a small share of what a house uses, so it doesn't need to treat the whole supply. No plastic bottles to buy.

My utility's report looks fine. Why test my tap?

The report describes water leaving the plant, not your tap. Your pipes, your water heater and any filter you already have change the numbers on the way to your kitchen sink, and two houses on one street can test differently. A private well gets no utility testing at all.

Does hard water hurt my water heater?

Slowly, yes. Hard water leaves scale in the bottom of a tank and inside a tankless heat exchanger, and the heater works harder to get through it. A yearly water heater flush clears it out, and a whole-home water softener stops most of it before it starts.
