AC repair in Northern Virginia: “condensate line was backing up and leaking water”

AC repair5 out of 5 stars

I was relied to have a service contract with Swift Pro. I discovered that the air conditioning condensate line was backing up and leaking water on the floor on one of the hottest day of the year. Efrain

was dispatched to our condo and quickly diagnosed the problem as a clogged discharge pipe. The clogged pipe was cleared and the apparent solution to this problem was offered which will be scheduled in the near future. This is the type of special service that a maintenance agreement should provide. Thank you, Swift Pro for your excellence response.

About this job

SwiftPro's note, in our words, on the problem in this review.

Water on the floor near your indoor unit almost always comes from a blocked condensate drain.

On a humid day the coil wrings gallons out of the air, and every drop has to leave through a single small line.

That's why this one backed up on one of the hottest days of the year, when the AC was working hardest.

The diagnosis was a clogged discharge pipe, and it got cleared.

If you spot a puddle, shut the system off before it soaks through, because in a condo the ceiling below may be your neighbor's.

Clearing it gets you through today; a longer-term fix was offered here and is being scheduled.

For a condensate drain, a lasting fix usually means adding a trap and an overflow switch, which cuts the AC off before anything spills.

These lines gum up slowly over a season or two, so cleaning the drain belongs on every spring maintenance visit, well before it overflows.

Emergency service 24/7.

Clear pricing upfront with zero hidden fees or weird upselling for secondary services. They cleaned the vents, wiped down the register covers, and checked the main trunk lines for an honest flat rate.

SwiftPro truly went above and beyond. Our AC stopped working a couple of days before the heat wave and required parts being ordered. The company called around local stores across the DMV and located the part needed; ensuring we received the new part installed before the external temperatures skyrocketed. The technicians were very patient, knowledgeable, and really advocated on our behalf to our management company to expedite the repair process.
